How we rank
Sources, order and what Featured means. Updated October 2026.
Where the information comes from
Every company detail on this site comes from the company’s own website or from public business listings: names, addresses, phone numbers, services offered, service areas and company history. If we can’t find a detail in one of those places, we leave it out.
What we look at
- A local address in or near the city we cover.
- The range of services the company offers for the job.
- What the company says about licensing, insurance, guarantees and service plans.
- How long the company has served the area, from its own history.
- Clear information on its website about services, service area and how to get help.
What we don’t do
- We don’t publish star ratings, review counts or “verified” badges.
- We don’t inspect work, check licenses or guarantee any company. Confirm those directly before you hire.
What “Featured” means
Featured companies are highlighted placements, always labeled and shown at the top of the lists they appear in. All other companies are listed in our editorial order.
Updates and corrections
Lists show the month they were last updated. If something about a company is wrong or out of date, please send a correction and we’ll review it.
